Well, Santa delivered a new Trail Boss to facilitate trail maintenance at Red Hills and elsewhere. This tool is light, packable, can be deployed very quickly, and is absolutely unnoticeable on your back as you ride. And it works. As Josh Malcom reported recently, water bars have multiplied like rabbits on Middle Earth this fall. And were talking about water bars of an industrial sort that can only have been made using a Ditch Witch. The net effect of these water bars was a radical diminishing of the aesthetic and sense of flow of the Middle Earth trail and environs, as well as unnecessary disturbance of the delicate topsoil of Red Hills. Funny thing is, of the three dozen or so water bars that were there, less than half a dozen had any water flow through them from all the rains we have had this season. Long story short, today my new Trial Boss made short work of the first step of erasing and reverting all these water bars back to nature, as shown by the before and after photos with Logan posing for scale. trail-insight/trail_boss/
