Well This Sunday mark the Kickoff of the 2013 Summer Music Series at the San Rafael Elks Club. Pete Harris just sent this info about who will be performing. The Linda Imperial Band 3. Pat Campbell and the 40 Acre Fools I’ll be playing a very special event on Sunday June 9th. It the Summer Music Series at the Elks Club in San Rafael. It’s my birthday concert with my 420 League Band with special guests, Pat Campbell and the 40 Acre Fools, and Linda Imperial Band featuring David Freiberg. The 420 League is a mash-up of several of my other bands, (The League, The Webs, JC Flyer) formed to play the 420 Reunion show at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroad, on 04-20, of course. We play an eclectic mix of fun songs by the Grateful Dead, The Band, Steely Dan, Cold Play, The Doors, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Robert Hunter, and of course many interesting and evocative original songs that will thrill and delight. Novato’s Pat Campbell is a fabulous multi-instrumentalist, most famous for his standup bass role in the bluegrass supergroup the “Good Ol’ Boys”, produced by Jerry Garcia. Pat’s annual Yard Jam is a hugely anticipated event in the traditional acoustic music scene. The 40 Acre Fools is a loose congregation of like-minded music enthusiasts, who like to jam and have a great time! Linda Imperial and David Freiberg are to Marin what Johnny Cash and June Carter were to Jackson. David, of course, as a founding member of Quicksilver Messenger Service, is one of the most respected figures in the “San Francisco Sound” rock scene. Still touring with the Jefferson Starship, David is playing and singing at the top of his game, and is beloved for his beaming, benevolent presence onstage and off. Linda is known for her powerful, bluesy voice and boundless positive energy. The Linda Imperial Band (lindaimperial ) plays a mix of original high-energy blues rock songs and oldies but very goodies from David’s years as a 1960s hit record artist with Quicksilver Messenger Service. David’s vocal renditions of the songs “Fresh Air”, “Pride of Man”, “Mona”, and “Get Together” sound better than ever in 2013! lindaimperial
