Well as I put on my uniform, check my equipment I carry, and mentally prepare myself for my shift tonight I hear my 2 year old in the other room jabbering away. I think as many people that may want to hurt me I have an obligation to make it home in 12 hours so I can be with my wife and child before they leave for the day and kiss them hello and have a good day.
