Well at least Galway is behind us. Definitely an interesting show for us all around. We had a bit of everything. Well, thankfully not everything, but definitely enough. I think this weeks horse show award should be given to Daniel He and Zoni had the most lovely jumping rounds that just somehow went south each time. He missed the last fence in show jumping and then circled around and jumped it. Crisis averted. Then after a bit of a rough and thankfully avoided tumble kind of warm up, he was having the most wonderful cross country round until he jumped the prelim B of the water and then proceeded to the Training C. Thankfully the powers that be let him finish his round, which was still lovely. So Daniel gets the big E for this weekends adventure. Guess its time to work on those course skills. On to the next event. Way to get it all out of the way at one show. Kimberly redeemed herself after cross country today. She removed the Pants of Lead and had a beautiful ride on Calvin. They skipped around in a lovely gallop and made time. Nothing like finding that perfect balance while galloping and then realizing how easy it is to bring your horse back for the fences. Nicely done Kim! Now lets do it all again at Twin! Jennifer gets the gold star!! She had 3 spot on phases this weekend. She and Vana skipped around the cross country in style. After their best dressage score to date, they finished double clear in show jumping and cross country to move into 4th in Sr Training Thank you Jennifer! Jessica and Thunder had a really good weekend. They are getting pretty solid at this whole Prelim thing. They had 2 rails today, but they had a beautiful round. So nice to see both of their confidence improving. Next run, Twin Rivers! Keep up the amazing work! Kris Phargo was stellar this weekend. He was 1 of only 11 double clean show jumping rounds out of 66 horses at the prelim level today. He was foot perfect and I am so pleased with how well he went all weekend. His clean round moved him in to 3rd for OP A. He too deserves a gold star! And lots of cookies. Leo is amazing. He had the most beautiful show jump round today. He was 1 of only 3 to show jump double clean in the OI today. He was so adjustable and I feel so lucky to be sitting on such a talented horse. We are still working on getting the dressage more relaxed, and cross country a bit more fluid, and then having plenty of horse left over for show jumping. I think we are on track for the last one, and the first two just keep getting better and better. We still have a long road ahead, but I am excited to be on this journey with Samantha and Leo. Thanks Sam! Next stop, Blenheim on Saturday to try our hand at the 7 yr young jumper qualifier 1.30m here we come! Once again it was great to spend the weekend with such fantastic people. Thanks for making this so much fun!
