Well... back from Tim Dahle Nissan Sandy with a nasty surprise. Apparently the Radiator core has leaked into the gearbox requiring it to be rebuilt. The REALLY annoying part is that this is a known issue that Nissan were sued about as part of a class action lawsuit (and lost). They set aside funds to repair any affected Nissan for free. Except we are beyond the time limit so were facing a $3000 co pay for the repair. I called Nissan earlier and will receive a call back tomorrow to see what they will do to assist. The dealership also raised it with Nissan corporate. The fact that the vehicle is very low mileage (70,000) and that it has only ever been serviced at the main dealer from which is was purchased AND the fact I have owned it since new all count in my favor.
