Well boy and girls, i think we are coming to the end of an era. I dont see the voluteer military lasting too much longer, this may be the last generation. Signing up for 6 years, but still having to wait to sew on your rank for 20 weeks; uncertainty over your pay almost every October when Congress cant get their act together; numerous deployments, because there arent enough people to go around; closing of commissaries, while many lower ranks are still on food stamps; increasing in your health care costs and reduction of benefits AFTER you retire. No one goes into the military to get rich, they do it to serve their country. But, when that country turns their back on them after thier service...whats the point? I just dont see the 30 days paid leave as a real incentive for people to join anymore.
