Well despite reports that Ukraine is mobilising their military and are unwilling to release Crimea from Ukraine, I would argue that nothing has changed since Friday. Moreover Ukraine still hasnt switched off the electricity to Crimea in preparation for such a conflict, (but I guess we will get the power cut off after Russia turns off the gas). And Kiev has no money to mount a war and neither does it have the means to get extra troops into Crimea as there are only 2 easily defended roads (to speak of) into Crimea from Ukraine through wetlands and all ports be they air or sea have been closed. It has been said in the past that no Ukranian military will want to die for such a foolhardy conflict, and local Ukranian troops in Crimea do not want to fight either. Separately, the US and the west (who are the only ones keen to give Kiev money) have been feverishly advising Kiev NOT to engage in any military adventure or provocation. So we are headed back to the original conclusion I came to that either nothing happens and this morphs into an economic standoff with Gas being cut to Europe, (which serves the insider bank shorts), or there is a Military Counter Coup in Ukraine to expel the illegal government in Kiev and restore things to the terms of the Feb 21st accord. So I would not be alarmed by any of these reports (such as that below that infer all hell is bout to break loose) as they are spurious IMO. The aim of this exercise IMO has always been to incite Russians to Cut the Gas off to Europe to collapse economic prospects and asset prices for the benefit of the political and banking elite. As such any further rallies in Gold and Silver should be sold in the paper markets - but hold on to the Physical as when price falls retail inventories will be cleaned out IMO - just like in April and June 2013.
