Well done Ally on your winning rant. :) Ally Ainsley. I am becoming more and more heavy-hearted at the self-centered nature of society as a whole. It really is becoming a dog eat dog world, with people feeling the need for self-preservation and anger and leaving no room for empathy or compassion. I realise that life puts a lot of pressure on us these days. Stress levels and financial worries have sent us to a place where there is no room for kindness, it seems. We have our success measured by the size of our house, our job, income, how many holidays we have and what car we drive as opposed to how much we laugh, how much we do for others or how happy we make our children. Nobody is perfect, and yet people sit in their glass houses casting judgement about other’s parenting, what they wear or how they choose to spend their time. People advocating that if someone makes wrong choices or mistakes in life, affecting them and theirs only, regardless of the reasons behind that and without asking the facts, then they should be made to pay. Or if the actions of one person disrupt another in the slightest, they are fair target for abuse. We have been royally screwed over by governments and driven to a point where we are critical of things about each other that have no bearing in the scheme of things. Why? Does it make people feel better about themselves or is it just an outlet for angst? All it does is bring negativity to the forefront. Although not everyone is in a position whereby they can physically help others, surely we can all spare a thought for others. Maybe your view isn’t the only view and consideration of the other perspective will do you know harm whatsoever. Intelligence is not measured by what we already know, it’s the ability to learn and adapt what we believe.
