But after Primary Four, the 10-year-old boy dropped out of school. Not because he had lost interest in his studies, but because he wanted take care of his depressed mother after his fathers death. A decade later, Madam Madam Zalinah Abdul Gani, now 42, was beaming with pride on Tuesday. The youngest of her three children, Mr Muhammad Asyraf Chumino, now 20, had just graduated with the Sng Yew Chong Gold Medal, which is awarded to top Institute of Technical Education (ITE) graduates.
