Well done to Kloof SPCA again!!!! You are absolutely useless! And you are animal killers!! I am so furious right now and heartbroken at the same time! Last night my cat was attacked by dogs up the road from us. A family friend of ours that lives in that road rescued him (they didn’t know he was our cat) and called the SPCA on contact no: 073 335 9322. They came out and fetched him. The SPCA inspector assured my friend that my cat would get medical treatment. After seeing the post I contacted my friend immediately and told her it was my cat. She then gave me the number of the Inspector she had called 073 335 9322. I then called the inspector and was told he had been taken to the Kloof SPCA and been treated. I said I wanted to come and collect him to take him to Sherwood Vet to get immediate medical attention as my friend said that his wounds were extensive! The inspector assured me that he had received medical treatment and was stable and would be fine and I did not need to come and fetch him. I asked again. Please can I come and fetch him. And are you sure he has been treated and that he will make it through the night? “Yes mam! He has been treated, his injuries are not that bad, he is stable, and will make it through the night; you can come and collect him at 8am tomorrow morning.” This was at 12.47am this morning. So I took the inspectors word for it. I prayed for my boy, and I went to bed. I was at SPCA at 7.30am this morning. Rang the bell. Asked for my cat. When the running around started, and “oh please just wait here mam” “I won’t be long mam” I knew something was not right. Then I was called into a room. “I’m really sorry, but there were 3 cats brought in last night and 2 passed away” WELL I WAS FUMING!!! HEARTBROKEN AND FURIOUS!!! I asked to see him. She brought him out and it was my Max. Now I ask you, how you can reassure a pet owner that their pet has received medical treatment, that his injuries are not that severe, that he is stable, and that he will definitely make it through the night. Then I go to collect him and I have to identify his DEAD body!!!!! I told asked her TWICE!! NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!! PLEASE CAN I COME FETCH HIM TO TAKE HIM TO A PRIVATE VET!!! SPCA I AM DONE WITH YOU!!! Every single animal I have also taken to SPCA that I have rescued, have been euthanized as well. And when asked why, I have been told every excuse in the book. But this was just the cherry on the cake for me. MY CAT IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!!!! SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR INSPECTORS!! YOU ARE LIARS!!!!! I will never ever support the SPCA and will make sure that every single person I know does not support you as well!!!! ** I am a rescuer and so is my friend who rescued my cat. I don’t take animals to SPCA anymore; I look after them myself until I find them a home. Because at least with me they stay alive and get a second chance. **
