Well for those of you that have been asking about Jenns arm, we - TopicsExpress

Well for those of you that have been asking about Jenns arm, we had an appointment today with the surgeon. The news is it can be fixed, however, she is going to have major surgery to do so. The problem is that the radius bone and ligament have detached from the elbow and are now in limbo in the arm. In order to fix this, they will break the Ulna bone and manipulate it to make room for the radius bone. Then they will place a plate, rod and screws to hold it in place. Finally they will add a donor ligament to replace the one that is no longer attached and working. She will stay over night after the surgery and be confined to home for at least one week and at that time the doctor will let us know whats next. She will not have a cast due to swelling and stitches, but will have a wrap and some other stuff to hold everything in place for 6 weeks. At this time we will do some physical therapy, then he will determine if he needs to do another surgery to fix stiffness in the arm. Then at least 3 more months of therapy. Please say a prayer for my little one as she is a bit nervous about all of this. The surgery will be on November 20th and until then she is in a sling.
