Well...guess what FB friends? This little 10 month old male Yorkiepoo was adopted from a local rescue. The woman who adopted him called the rescue a few days after she brought him home saying that he was taking to long to bond with her, he wouldnt walk on a leash, he wasnt playing with his toys, she could not brush him, he wouldnt eat, and he wasnt potty trained. She wanted to give him back to the rescue but they had her call me first. In one session I had him walking on a leash with Bellas help! I had him eating, enjoying being brushed, and gave her tips on building his confidence. She said after our session that she could not believe the difference in him. She said he started eating, walking him everyday, and even taking him places where people were able to interact with him. Well..... yesterday I got a call from this woman who was hysterical. She was complaining that every time she tried to pick him up he would try to bite her and then jump out of her arms. She mentioned that a few times he had fallen to the floor hitting his head. She said now he is not eating, has diarrhea, and seems lethargic. At that point it was clear that I needed to get him out of that situation so I agreed to take him. I brought him home and was shocked by his condition. He was very matted, very very thin, and very scared. You can tell that he associates touch or being picked up with pain. I was able to cut some dried poop off from under his tail and then allowed him to just relax and get to know our pack. He loves the other dogs but does not trust us.....yet! :) I am going to have him groomed today to help make him more comfortable but Im taking him to the vet first to have him checked out. Please send prayers and positive thoughts his way!!! No....we arent keeping him but he needs us right now so I am going to help rehabilitate him to get him ready for a special family that can give him what he deserves!!! Name ideas???
