Well guys, Im at a loss for words about how grateful I am to everyone who made Becoming Sophie a reality. This has been a long but rewarding journey for me and there are SO many people who helped make it possible. First off, thank you again to everyone who contributed to my fundrazr campaign - I wouldnt have even been able to shoot this film if it werent for you. To my AMAZING director Crystal Lowe who came on board over half a year ago. As much as you were born to act, you were born to direct. You never moved on until you were happy and you knew just what to say to get us there. This film would not be what it is if it werent for you. To my producing partners Sandy Sidhu and Alisson Amigo - you ladies were my rock. Everything that needed to get done, got done and it got done quick! I could focus on my acting because of you, and believe you me, that is a challenge for a control freak! To my amazing husband Christopher Alexander (who is currently on the golf course decompressing) - there are no words for how much I love you… thank you. To my CREW!!!! I seriously could not have asked for a more talented, hard working, passionate, fun, amazing crew. I was in awe everyday at the amount of professionalism that everyone carried on set. Dan Dumouchel and Catherine Mallette were an all-star camera team who are not only amazing people to have on set, but are so so so brilliant at their jobs. The grip team Jason Dryden, Zack Hamm, Kelly Anderson, Mark Surgenor, Carson & Matt worked their butts off, as well as laughed their butts off and I cannot thank you guys enough. My AD team…. what to say about my AD team… THANK YOU!!!! Liz Levine, producer extra-ordinare, thank you for taking the time out of your extremely busy schedule to run my set. Your authority and humour was the perfect combination to make the set run as smoothly as possible and we could not have gotten through our days without you. Derek Tiger Prince Lowe, Robbie Ruddell and Cole Jackson were the best 2nd and 3rd ADs anyone could ask for. Your eagerness and professionalism both on and off set were infectious and now I cant picture working on set without you guys! Gemma Brave - you were just that: Brave! for taking on this project with all of its craziness and intricacies. Thank you for keeping us on track and for doing it all with a beautiful smile on your face. Graeme Blatherwick, I know you were super busy with life and work and everything else, but you still took the time to make sure everything was in place for our shoot and did it flare. Thank you for being such a trooper! Donald Mensah and Ian Robinson, our wonderful sound mixers! You guys had a big difference in height but not in personality! Thanks for coming on board and being so wicked :) Daren Luc Sasges.. holy man, what to say about Daren… I dont think there is a better production designer out there (even though we had to have a conversation about your work attire, lol!) You transformed every room we were in, making them so unique and special with your amazing attention to detail. Ellie Schultz, not only did I love having you on board because youre my friend, I loved having you on board because youre so good at what you do! 7 costume changes in one day went off without a hitch.. youre amazing! Leah Roberts, thank you for making me so beautiful every day. Your such a delight to have on set and your work is so beautiful. Thank you Ashley J Young and Ava Vanderstarren for coming to help out with BG hair/make up/wardrobe on the last two days - your help was invaluable. Sarah Dawn Pledge… oh beautiful Sarah: I gave you the most important job on set, craft services, and you knocked it out of the park. Everyone loved your infectious energy and you just took such great care of us. You are a rockstar! To our lovely PAs Eugene Wong, Charlene Saranchuk, Moses Aaron Goldfarb, Felix Sg, Marc Todoroff and Jaime Provido: thank you thank you for giving your time to our shoot and for being so wonderful. Anything that needed to be done, was done, and was done with smiles on your faces. You were the first ones there and the last ones out and everything you did for us was SO appreciated. Juan Riedinger, thank you for coming to set and getting a glimpse of our world before you make magic with it. I cannot wait to see it all come together! Zakim Nuraney, you were not only a pleasure to have on set, but you went above and beyond your call as a DIT. Thank you for being so organized and passionate about what you do! Bettina Strauss, it was so lovely having you on set yesterday - thank you for giving your time to us, I cannot wait to see all of the on-set stills! Penny Ray, thank you for taking on the hard job of BG wrangler, for being such a trooper late at night, and for going above and beyond what you should have done, youre so lovely! Lisa Durupt, thank you for stepping in and helping out whenever it was needed, youre my crazy beautiful best friend and I love you so much! I CANNOT wait to hear what you and Andrew Halliwell put together for the musical element of our film! Thank you to all of the lovely background volunteers who came out super late and hung in there, just to support a fellow actor making her dreams come true. To my wickedly talented cast: Theo Devaney Herdman, Daniel Mallinson, Sydney Bell, Pam Kearns, Jason Cermak, Robin Nielsen and Sean Carey: THANK YOU for giving so much of your time and energy to each character. I could not have asked for a better cast to come on this crazy journey with me. Everyones performances were so beautiful and unique, and I cannot wait to see it all come together on the big screen! To my writing partner Bex Whiting, who picked up the phone when I called and said yes when I asked. If you had not said yes to writing this with me in the first place, I would not be sitting here writing all of these thank yous! (Also, thank you to Danielle Stott-Roy, Robin Nielsen and Joshua Young who all helped with script development in its earlier stages. Your advice and vision for the script was invaluable!) To all the companies who made food donations, we could not have made it through the days without you. Happy Water, Tealeaves, Hardbite, Edible Flours, Freshii, Bonchaz, Uncle Fatihs Pizza (Official), B-Bin, Panne Rizo Gluten Free Bakery, Gourmet Syndicate (Vijs Railway Express), Cartems Donuterie, Vincis Cafe. Thank you to Art and Patricia Mallinson for opening up their home to us for 2 whole days and for being so accommodating. We were truly spoiled with your space and your graciousness, you will never be thanked enough! Thank you Jeremy Harrington at Expedia Cruiseshipcentres for being so willing and generous with your space, and for Susan Ferguson who played her role as a travel agent so wonderfully! And thank you to Sandra and Lauren Alexandra for handing over your gorgeous Vincis Caffe and Gallery, as well as your art to us. Your space and artwork were the perfect finishing touches for our film and we could not have asked for a more perfect way to wrap our film. Thank you to my wonderful parents David and Audrey Chomik who flew in from Edmonton to spend their time on set with me and to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Your support for my career and for crazy dreams means the world to me. I love you so much. As you can all see, I am crazy grateful for everyone who has been involved in Becoming Sophie, who has supported my dreams, and who has been just as passionate as me. THANK YOU XOXO P.S. I know, longest post ever… haha!
