Well, her BAC of 0.31 is a game changer. This is no longer a seemingly accidental death and I havent signed her Death Certificate. Without revealing specific details of what is now a criminal investigation, there were 5 others aboard the boat and she was the only one drinking, the only one in the water (lets not call it swimming just yet) and the only one not wearing any clothes. Theres some red flags. After her toxicology results came back I had a chat with Jean-Marc (our favorite cop) last night. Sadly, Book em Jean-Marc doesnt sound as good as Book em Danno. But, being the original Star Trek fan that I am, Shes dead Jean comes close to Shes dead Jim. Carrying on. . . . As a result, the 5 were detained for questioning by the police. Ill be doing a full post-mortem examination later this afternoon, paying particular attention for bodily fluids not her own, skin residue not her own under her fingernails, including the fingernails from the hand attached to her severed left arm and shoulder, recent bruising not associated with the traumatic wounds and evidence of blunt force trauma to the head. Ill also get a full dental impression and a set of dental films. This is why its so important, in the seemingly, at first, most obvious cases, that all the evidence, including severed body parts, be retrieved and collected. My thanks to the tourist who found the severed shoulder and arm that washed ashore on the beach some 40 yards from the body, bringing it to us and handing it to Kujo who put it in a bag. Theres a clear chain of custody. While detained, the police will examine the 5 for fingernail scratch marks, recent bruising and bite marks. The 5 will remain in custody pending the results and findings of my post-mortem exam. Their boat has been impounded as evidence and will be searched by the police this afternoon. Theyre particularly keen on finding her clothes and the physical condition of the clothes (torn, ripped, missing buttons, etc.) ps> Denise, you owe me 3 candy bars from Belgium for this. Ha ha
