Well, heres exactly what happened. I needed a bigger bowl for Thoms birthday cake I was mixing up. I went to the cupboard, and took hold of the handle of the large pyrex bowl and went back to my spot. It must be that I inadvertently nicked the bowl on the side of the counter when it instantly EXPLODED like a grenade in my hands. It cut the top of my foot and I bled puddles of blood.....Thom came rushing in and I said we have to call the rescue squad and of course neither of us had our phones... and Im BLEEDING!! He got his phone and as I called he smashed dish towels on the cut and after 5-10 minutes it stopped....rescue guys and gal got there after being held up by a train..... What as bloody mess all over the freaking floor! Like the Brits say: bloody hell! Rescues wrapped my foot and left, absolutely wonderful people. Thom mopped while I got dressed and off to St. Anne ER....they were wonderful! Could not have been kinder or more helpful. 3 stitches and out within an hour. If youve never heard of Exploding Pyrex, just google it. Go ahead. What a day! Thanks be to the life saving EMTS and ER staff...whatever would we do without them.
