Well, heres the latest. on my brother, Barry. He is still slowly improving. His kidneys are still not working, but it will take a while to know if they will come back. Good news: he is down to one blood pressure medicine! His lungs are still doing fine. Another culture came back positive for staph today in his urine from earlier in the week. Everything has came back negative for resistant staph, and they did sensitivities so that they could narrow down which antibiotics would work for him and have switched them up some. We are so happy that he is down to one blood pressure medication! They wont think about taking out the breathing tube until they are sure he is out of shock, the best indicator for them is his blood pressure. His white blood count is coming up slowly. We dont want it to get too high because then theyll fight his new lungs, but he needs a few so he can fight off some stuff. He is still pretty swollen and listed as critical and the doctors are cautiously optimistic I think. Please continue to keep praying for him. He is responsive to family that is there with him, for a little while, then he goes back to sleep.
