So for our first day homeschooling weve gone bike riding, mapped (with some problem solving along the way) the play park, persuaded a council man in a tie to send us an email with a map (which he did already!), written a report, written a story about what happens when the park is shut (and youd never believe it included a wizard called Gandalf!), created a word list of spelling problems, enlisted someone to teach breadmaking (thanks Anne Harvey), enlisted a substitute teacher (thanks Suzy Vines), sub-contracted language and theology (thanks Grandad!), and now were working on a tailor made weekly program! Phew! I believe that we can call day 1 a success! It was actually quite fun and relaxing... maybe my life will slow down?!!!
