Well...in a bit of a unusual turn of events i now have all the parts i need to restore the old organ. I also find myself the owner of three organs now. two that play and one that doesnt (but hopefully soon will). Earlier this week i found an identical organ to the family organ not more than 35 or so miles from here. It was bought as a antique by the owner and they wanted to sell it as they are moving. The guy doesnt even know how to play it. So william and i went over to see it and i got it. It will provide the missing wooden case parts i need. So with three organs on my hands...what to do? Well the organ we got today while indentical to the family organ is a 11 stop organ. (11 knobs and valves). The family organ is a 10 stop organ as is the first donor organ i got. So the plan now is... Take the mechanical parts i need (bellows, windchest and foundation board) from the first donor organ..use what i need from those for the family organ. Take the wooden case parts i need from the second donor organ. Take the mechanical parts from the second donor organ (11 stop parts) and put them in the first donor organ and sell that organ to help recoup some of the money ive been spending so far. The second donor organ will go to Carolina along with the 10 stop parts from the first donor organ and the mechanical parts (also 10 stop) from the family organ. After the mechanicals are restored, the parts restored will go into the family organ and the rest will remain with the second donor organ and be donated to Johnsons. A complete top came with the donor organ and is a match for the family one. Now i gotta fiqure out what im gonna do with the one Little Chris picked up for me in Alabama. I think i got that right...sheesh.... anyway here are some new pictures to go along with all of this mess...
