Well it happened. I have been able to check messages on Facebooks mobile app even though they said it was mandatory to switch until today. Today, as I do my pretend download of the 1-star rated app Messenger, my attempts to view the messages backfired as it continued to show me the picture of the otter saying weve moved! Well. the day has come. Today, I am going to be deleting my #FacebooMobile app. Here is my reasoning: Whats on my mind, Facebook? Ill tell you. 1. I already have a problem with my Data Usage which makes it really hard to have another app that has been know to eat through a Data package within 1 day. 2. I would just delete my Facebook account out of protest, BUT I need Facebook for my job at the Wesley Foundation. 3. I do not like having unread notifications, and due to my refusal to download the app, I will have many unread notifications on my Facebook Mobile should I continue to have it. 4. Facebook made a bad business decision by making it mandatory. I know I am not the only one who refuses to use the Facebook Messenger app and I know that many people have done what I have done. Many people have even deleted their account all together in protest. 5. I am not just doing this without having tried out the Messenger App. A while back, before it was mandatory, I downloaded it. However, I didnt use it that often because of the convenience of having it in the Facebook app, my not-needing of the stickers function, the fact of it continuously crashing, and the fact that I did not like it. 6. Should it no longer become mandatory, I would love to re-download the app. Seeing as I can still use my messenger on my iPad app, I can still use that. So Facebook, skip over this post as you do with many post that have been posted with you tagged or to your wall, but hopefully your genius CEO will someday come to the conclusion that this is not the app he thought it would be. So friends, I wont be able to message back like I have been able to before. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
