Well, it has been a whirlwind 10 days….because of all the drama of the early oxygen sat test, we have had multiple appointments…Connor may have been ready to be here, but his liver wasnt, lol..so we are dealing with jaundice. We have a home phototherapy bed right now (YEAH for light therapy!!!) and I have the LED/QN lite on him too. The trauma of multiple blood tests has set him back a bit- man youd think lab techs would know how to do a newborn stick….he went a bit backwards with nursing and alertness, so we are applying oils (mainly balance for stress, and helichrysum because they bruised him BAD with the first 2 blood tests…grrr…..)and NOT leaving the house for several days. He is still the sweetest thing…oh he gained back his weight loss within a few days, and seems to be gaining…the nurses that come out daily for the phototherapy checks DO know how to do a newborn stick- and they have been awesome- our first one a big natural birth/ breastfeeding advocate… ( do you know some sites say to DISCONTINUE breast feeding for jaundice…wtf?) and the nurse today to clean his foot after the blood draw said, I am just going to clean it with some essential oils and water…I said what oils? and she said a blend called On Guard!!! Yeah!!!! A doTERRA gal!!!!!! I am recovering well…I feel MUCH more like myself again, now that I am NOT pregnant and dealing with HG…..even WITH the sleep loss and baby brain I am feeling so much more like myself. I find I am going to have to relearn how to eat and drink again, and probably need to put myself on a feeding schedule, as the month without eating or drinking much has altered my appetite as well- so Connor gets fed on demand or more, and I get a schedule! ;)
