Well, it seems as though this debate has a lot of people confused and skeptical of the format and secrecy. Let me tell you why my father and our family were not confused.... Three weeks ago when first informed of this debate my father was skeptical based on the format. Simply put, it did not make sense. Why should the Advocate have all the control in this situation? Why do they not want people attending? Why do they want to have final screening of all questions? With that in mind, my father went to the Advocate and requested that the debate be held in an auditorium, for the public to be present, and to allow the voters to direct any and all questions to any candidate, about any subject matter. Not only did the Advocate push aside this request as a joke and laugh at my father, but they flat out refused. Knowing various connections, along with receiving information from an insider, Gary decided that it would be best to not attend the event. My father feels as though the tax payers have most at stake in this election, and if the voters cannot attend and interact with the candidates then the event is flawed and ultimately biased.
