Well its Friday already and we have just returned from our unescorted tour of Nagasaki city. Are we any good? We managed to see all we wanted to see and even had lunch in a typical Japanese diner. The ordering went something like We will have whatever he is eating, but we want two bowls, so we can share. After much hand signals and posturing we finally got what we ordered. There was a bowl of rice another bowl of something else, a raw egg and a hot iron bowl of some meat and other Stuff sizzling on a hot plate. Not knowing what we were supposed to do, I mixed the egg in with the bowl of stuff and stirred it around until it was cooked. Then we ate it all!!!! I think the locals,and it was crowded with all men, were mightily impressed with our handling of the whole meal using chopsticks, like locals! And it all cost $5.80! I am not much impressed with the city of Nagasaki! Like the other Japanese cities, it is very clean and they have a very good color coordinated Tram system and you can buy an all day pass for $5.00. But there doesnt seem to be any inner city as such. The Peace Park was very moving and I found it a little depressing. Didnt spend too much time there! Off to Pusan Sth. Korea tomorrow, then on to China........Cheers and love
