Well its Sunday morning in Palm Desert. I had a joyous time in my church today singing in the choir and listening to the praise of a special woman who has served in our childrens ministry for 26 years. She had an enormous impact on all three of my children growing up. As part of the sermon, a pastor of ours said Christianity is only one generation from extinction! This naturally got me to thinking and, disregarding the hyperbole for the moment, our faith is carried forth by the Spirit of God through us as His instruments. Our recent trip to Burundi was a wonderful reminder of that! Most all of our time there was celebrating our relationship with our creator - American and African alike. To be sure, there were many people who came to know God as a result of our crusade and lives were changed, but as Ive always said, God cares not so much about what we do as he does about how we do it! We shared our heartfelt love with the people of Burundi and so did they in return. This was one of the purposes of A Light to the Nations - to empower the local church. As I gave my message to the Agape church in Ngozi one week ago today, I told them long after we flew back to America, they would have the care and charge of a new generation of believers. And so it goes, and so it has gone since Christ gave the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all the earth teaching them as weve been taught. My only prayer is that we fulfill this command with the purity, accuracy and love with which it has been given to us. May God bless you, and thank you for your prayers of support. In His name, Jim
