Well, its a nice Friday, so before I (again) plunge to my load of works, I think I will just re-visit these posts left by some Christians here in Pinoy Atheist and indulge myself for a short while. Now, heres one from Jing Balbuena... How can you hate someone you don’t believe in? Why the hostility? If God does not exist, shouldn’t atheists just relax and seek a good time some people don’t like God because they don’t like moral constraints—you can make up your own rules, or have none at all, if God does not exist. As an atheist, do I hate god? The answer is Nah, but... Ok, so what do I mean by that? First, when we talk about god (or gods) were not just talking about the Christian deity. So, why will I be angry at Zeus, Odin or Itzamná? Now let see... Maybe youre familiar with TV, Movies, video games, book, comics? Ok, sometimes I get pissed-off with characters (especially the villains) on fictions. Ok, Mel Gibsons character in The Expendables 3 is such an asshole, but that doesnt mean Conrad Stonebanks exists, right? The same with Jings god. We sometimes get vexed with this god because of what we read in the Bible - especially on those part where this god is such an awful jerk, but that doesnt mean it exists - the same with Conrad Stonebanks. Moral constrains? Ok... Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation--men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys. - 1 Samuel 15:3 Now whats ethical in killing babies? Well, at least in secular laws of war - we are not allowed to kill babies and children. Does the Geneva Convention ring a bell? So you see, it is but normal for atheists (like moi) to be angry at god and sure, we can uh... just relax and seek a good time.. if only believers will just stop shoving their god in our throat and keep their religious belief where the Sun doesnt shine.
