Well its nearly the big day and as much as I did waver a few times - TopicsExpress

Well its nearly the big day and as much as I did waver a few times its defiantly going to be a NO from me I have to give it to the YES campaign they have threw the kitchen sink at this and when I wake up on Friday morning I fully expect to see most of my Facebook friends celebrating Interdependence and if that is the case I will support that decision. I seen a post from a fellow No voter that summed up the full thing for me and I couldnt have put it better myself. In the event of a Yes vote tomorrow many will be in for a shock when they see the picture that the SNP painted for them was based on fantasy, the rest of the world giving Salmond everything he wants and best possible case scenario. He lied on the NHS - he told us to vote yes to avoid cuts from Westminster. Westminster cannot cut the NHS budget in Scotland and he was hiding half a billion in planned NHS cuts for an independent Scotland. He lied on the EU. He claims well get in automatically. We wont. Every reputable source out there has said this including the EU regulations themselves. Wed have to apply and a new application the the EU is lucky if its resolved within a decade. Wed also need to prove were working towards adopting the Euro as a currency and wed lose the rebate of fees which is currently enjoyed by the UK. There is no easy way with this. He lied on Currency. He claims well get a currency Union because its The will of the scottish people and its common sense. In reality, this is the UKs currency and its for them to decide. The population are 2:1 against it in polls and the leaders of the three main political parties have said NO. The Bank of England has said NO and the Treasury has said NO. He then claims well use the pound anyway - which will in turn stop us from having a central bank, controlling interest rates for our own people, Stop us borrowing, which is a big part of the plan for Independence given Swinney has said well borrow £2.5bn straight away to fund independence. With no central bank, well effectively have no control over our own economy. Hes lied on start up costs. Hes claimed its going to cost a mere £250m to set up this new state. Thats with all the legal advice, the negotiations with the rest of the UK on assets and debt, the bids to hold the UK to ransom over currency, the advice and case for joining the EU & NATO, and then the costs of replacing the full government infrastructure and public services. Everything from passport control, to paying benefits, to replacing the DVLA, to replacing all the departments and ministries of Westminster, dozens, that provide services to Scotland. Experts are predicting spiriling debts and £6bn of cuts to balance the sheets after independence. Even with all that oil well take a long time to recover from that. Hes Lied on Oil. Leading Expert Sir Ian Wood, among too many others to name has rubbished the SNPs oil revenue predictions, claiming they will be at the very most, on a very good year, £5bn, not the £7bn the SNP are relying on to make their new country viable. Also the amount of Oil left in the north sea may have been overestimated (or stretched..) by 60%!! that is not only substantial but it is downright misleading and unethical to give us these figures and allow us to make a huge decision like this based on utter fantasy at best and lies and deceit at worst. The companies who actually make the money from the oil (the supposed £1.5trillion, of which we only get the taxable amount) have agreed that the SNPs figures are misleading and Sir Ian Wood is indeed correct. We have big employers, financial institutions and with them the many thousands of jobs they provide telling us they will not be able to operate in an Independent Scotland and will head south. We have the most respected media outlets, such as the Guardian and the Scotsman among many others telling us this is wrong for Scotland. This is NOT scaremongering. This is someone trying to sell you something which sounds fantastic but is made up of fantasy scenarios, inflated figures and propaganda about Westminster bordering on what id call conspiracy theory... Youre not voting FOR Scotland youre voting to PUT Scotland into the hands of proven liars, risking jobs, the economy and the very things that make Scotland so stable and well protected. We, along with the other 4 nations that make up the United Kingdom have had a profound influence on the planet we live in. On all fronts, weather it be Industrial, Engineering, Inventiveness and innovation, cultural Influence with the most widely spoken language and the most recognisable flag in the world, the United Kingdom has served us well and we have punched well above our weight as part of it. There are only 68m people on these small isles but the things we have are the envy of the world. There are people who will travel thousands of miles and risk their lives to live in our society. The NHS is the envy of the world for providing leading healthcare for free to the millions of Britons regardless of race or social standing. The thought of a YES vote and Scotland losing all its helped to build is utterly heartbreaking to me, and to so many others, especially as the vast majority who are going to vote no little of politics other than what the SNP have claimed, and their army of bloggers and hard done by, victim mentality wielding anti-English crazies who will do and tell you anything to win this referendum. My request is simple, think hard about what youre doing. This is one day, its too easy to vote for the wrong reasons like national pride or being dazzled by the offer of this oil-rich free and fair utopia. Freedom and fairness is something Ive never felt Ive been denied as a Scot and as a British citizen. All I ask is that you vote with your head, based on facts from experts, not opinions from blogs, and you think about what this one off victory over England, and the few weeks of waving the Saltire afterwards will feel link in comparison to job losses, cuts, and knowing that you compromised or even worse lost Scotlands place as an economically stable, safe member of a Union most other countries would give their right arm to be a part of.
