Well my 1st year in the PDC is done and dusted, it was a wrench - TopicsExpress

Well my 1st year in the PDC is done and dusted, it was a wrench leaving the BDO but I always wanted to see what playing in the PDC was like and also coupled with far less traveling abroad and my uncertain health problems to be it was the right time to try. Q School was disappointing for me had some really good games the 3 days I participated but in the end not good enough did not get my card, still was really looking forward to the challenge tour and the Euro tour also knowing there was a chance to play in a few pro tours. I made 1 Euro tour in Berlin this was a great experience for me a first taste of what a TV tournament may feel like in the PDC, just had a really good time and played ok on the stage losing in my second game. On the Pro Tour I playing in around 12 tournaments made last 16 in one of them and a few second rounds, have had some cracking games with Thornton twice and Ian White got a good hiding by Peter Wright lol but thats always going to happen to anyone on the pro tour even Taylor lost 6 - 0 in one of them. I have to say though too many 6 - 5 defeats especially from being in command in many of them, I put this down to lack of experience of finishing people off maybe a lack of ruthlessness but we need to work on that as it has blighted my whole career to be honest. Need to kill off games and I will as I have finally admitted its a weakness, in the challenge tours I made 7 Quarter finals and lost 5 of them from being 4 - 1 up I finally got over that and made 2 finals this is a positive thing - fact is in my BDO career I was always happy to make your last 16, last 8s as that was enough of a points haul to make the ultimate goal of Lakeside, but over here its all about winning and making those finals to get the real money thats the same what ever PDC tour you are plying your trade. Fact is I am going to have another go at Q School, I really want to try and hard to get my card as I feel I got far more about me that I have shown this season. As always nothing like this would be possible without my tremendous sponsor Ray Hammond, his continued support for me really is second to none and I thank you - a major thing that drives me to be more successful is to reward you for your loyalty mate, I believe we will get there. I dont like to set targets as such but I really think getting in the world championships at ally pally really should be the main goal especially if we get a card. Big thanks to Red Dragon for your support fabulous company to be linked with very proud moment for me renewing our partnership, brilliant Lucy thankyou for your help you drive me everywhere and have to put up with me being all moany when things dont go right (im not that bad honest) but its great you there when things go well. thats about it sorry for SA just felt the need to let people know whats going on I know I have friends that want me to do well and thanks for your positive comments too Roll on January lets do it all again :) Steve
