Well my mother passed away almost 2 weeks ago and I had until tomorrow to get her apartment cleaned out. What a chore that was. We joked all the time about my mother being an organized hoarder. For anyone that attended my mothers calling hours saw the dust rag and polish in her casket and I told you the story about her need to clean. My mother lived for a clean house washed clothes and clean kids. And she raised us to do the same. Although I have to say I dont bleach the inside of my toilet bowl every week but I do the best I can with all my aches and pains and running around that I do. Going thru my mothers things these past two weeks was very hard. My sisters Jeanene Swanson and Lisa Johnston my sister in law Jan Johnston along with my bff Mary Washington and Jane Ashman Humenny went through my mothers things and sorted out what everyone wanted of my mothers stuff. Sorted thru things no one would think she would have kept. Like rocks that her grandson Blaine Swanson gave her or a cup that Nate Cummings gave her from santas workshop. Family pictures galore. We couldnt help thinking how upset she wiuld be because it was so messy and unorganized. Hard to believe that we hit it done. As I put the last box into my car and went to shut the door I turned and looked at her empty apartment with a freshly sweep floor and clean countertops I blew her a kiss and said I love you Mom. I miss her already.
