Well my sister Gail is back in ICU! She now has a bladder infection and some form of infection in her incision sites on her legs!! This is the third time she has been in ICU!! She is doing alittle better today, they have her pain under control and they are giving her major antibiotics. Unfortunately my family had to go to a patient advocate, ICU supervisor and floor supervisor her to find out why she was being neglected. She was left to sit in her own urine and ignored when she was in severe pain and had a high fever from what ever bacteria is growing in incision site. I and my family have worked in the health care field so we know what its like to be short handed, but this was just neglect!! When a hospital charges as much as they do we should not have to question the kind of care she is getting. When I see the signs around town that say come to Port Huron Hospital for Excellence, I want to laugh! They need to practice what they preach before they claim excellence. I thank God everyday that my niece January became a nurse because if it wasnt for her, my sister would never get bathed or cared for!! Please continue your prayers for Gails healing.
