Well, my yearly adventure known as Tsubasacon is over, and Im home, and might I just say this was the worst year ever since the first time I went. Not that the con was the worst - indeed, the con was awesome, as always. A well done event, managed expertly by some fantastic otaku and awesome friends all about. No, Im referring to how karma kicked me squarely in the backside and made me pay for always being the nice guy, even though I would have thought how people always take advantage of that fact would have been payment enough. On Fri night, in the cold rain, I discovered my tire was flat. Of course, I couldnt have discovered that while I was safe and parked in the garage, no - only after I was out and moving did I notice. Then I limped to a spot to get it fixed, only to find out that having no spare is the next step in this saga getting worse. I managed, by begging, to get a spot to park at the Holiday Inn and I managed, again by begging, to get a ride for me and my daughter to our hotel out at the 29th street I-64 exit. But wait - the begging wasnt over yet. I managed to convince a good friend of mine, Tom Landon, to come get me and my daughter at said hotel and take us her back to the con, and then get my tire off and drive me to get another, and then back to put it back on. All this while slipping me an extra $25 to buy it, which drained all my money, so when we got the car repaired he slipped me another $18 to get some food and re-park the car. Friends like him are the reason I have as much faith still in Humanity as I do. So I survived the day, and the con, and returned to the hotel, and then back for the closing day as well. All in all I got to see several of you, and although I might not have said Hello or anything, (Im terribly shy) just know I saw several of you and recognized you and hope you all had a wonderful time. Till Natsu, in the summer, take care!!
