Well, no more tests for a while now. How about that? In fact, the only followup I know of is with my radiologist in November. Some nice results on the last two that I had done; today I found out that my echo stress test came back showing my heart in good shape for the surgery. As they told me, it does everything that its supposed to do. Well...thats a relief. lol I also havent mentioned this yet, because I dont like to talk about the fact that I was a long -term smoker. But in this case, Im really proud to share that when I took a pulmonary function/breathing test a couple of weeks ago, I scored a 94%. No too shabby at 46 years old, huh? No lectures about smoking, please - they are unnecessary at this point, as that life is behind me. Ive already acknowledged many times that it was one of the biggest mistakes I made in life. And here I am getting the ultimate second chance in life, so I prefer to celebrate the great results. My primary surgeon is a real fan of mine. Hes always really excited and positive when he sees me. Today was no exception at all. In fact, he really eased some concerns I had after talking to the other surgeons who will assist him a few weeks ago. I got him to admit that a lot of things they said to me are worst-case scenarios to prepare me for the possible worst. He said that he was so impressed with the way I weathered the chemo and radiation treatment, how Ive looked, and how my tests just came back, and that he thinks I am in position to weather the surgery just as well. There are no guarantees of course, but he said of all the people that come inn for this procedure, I am very much on the well side. Meaning he thinks I have very little to be concerned about inn terms of recovery. He also said he thinks I am smart and will follow all directions very well. Remind me to send this guy some homemade beer cheese at Christmas this year. I found out that Ill have even more incisions than I was told a few weeks ago. But also that they will heal up nicely and shrink down to 1 or 2 mm white lines if treated properly. Pre-op will take a few hours on Monday, and then well most likely be looking at an early check-in and start time on Tuesday. In the meantime, I am enjoying eating as much as I can, and whatever I want to have. Can you feel the Big Love? Can you smell what The Wolf is cooking up? ~ Jim
