Well now that my brain is shifting back into coherency, I feel that I can now give my post Valley of The Bag Ladies Bus Tour Report to the masses. Raising $20K in one night only to be doubled to $40K by Viva Glam! OMG!!!! Say what you want, but that is freaking marvelous! The bus sponsors, the participants on the buses, the businesses we visited, and the patrons of those establishments were absolutely fabulous and generous. This past year was a busy one for me as 2013 Queen. We collected and donated a great deal because of the hard work and generosity of so many. We set a goal of $70K grand in honor of our Queen Mother Blossom. When we get done calculating after this weekend’s event, I know we blew that out of the water. “We” is you! I want to say that this year we had a remarkable group of contestants running for Bag Lady Queen 2014 and they all worked hard. We also had great events hosted June Michael J. Taylor-Guanci Scarlette OHairy Randall Pate , and Kayla Hiltop Ken Redmore . They helped to get us beyond our goal. We had participants throughout the year helping us along as well. Too many to mention in this post and you know who you are and I love you! Now to the reason I got out of my recliner and out from in front of the TV to write this. To our new Queen! I couldn’t be more thrilled that we have our newly crowned Queen Cassidy Fellows-Sommers !! This gal worked her butt off planning, coordinating, participating, and bringing in that badly needed money for those who need it. She is sweet, professional, talented, and makes me laugh. Cassidy you are going to experience the love and exhilaration that I felt to belong to this group of guygals that have the one goal of community service… and not the court ordered kind. I will be there to support you and so will all of the Queens who came before you as they did me. The Bag Ladies are all each unique and stand out as individuals, not conforming to a norm or a cookie cutter standard and at the same time making one cohesive magical stack of drag cake! This upcoming year you will be the icing on our cake baby! I love you! Sparkle XOXO
