Well now we’re up to our Long Distance Dedication. This is a letter Casey read on the air the weekend of January 7th, 2007. It comes to us from a listener named Tina who has a letter about what might have been. Here’s what she writes: Dear Casey, This dedication goes out to someone I havent seen or spoken to for many years. But as you will see, its someone who made quite an impression. When I was still a teenager, my girlfriend Gail and I met a group of bikers: local guys, a little older who were partying. Gail went for a guy name Dave. I fell head over heels for a guy named Steve. Steve always treated me with respect. He used to open doors for me and would always greet me with the biggest smile and then pick me up, swing me around, then kiss me. He was funny and so sweet. But one day, Gail and I went down to his place and were taken by surprise. Steve began screaming at me to get out of his house and calling me names that really hurt. I was so hurt and shocked. My heart literally skipped a beat. Later, we went back down to the house. I had to know why he had called me those hurtful names. When we got down there, the place was being busted by the cops. I screamed for Steve and somehow knowing I would never really see him again. I was crushed. Soon after, I learned that Steve was actually a law-enforcement agent himself, and he didnt want me there when the bust went down. Its been 15 years since then. Recently I talked to Gail. She said she saw Steve one time since then, and he asked about me. He remembered how I wouldnt allow him to get my name tattooed on his arm, but he said it was tattooed on his heart. He also said to tell me he was very sorry for hurting me. Casey, can you please play Far Away and let Steven know I forgave him a long time ago. I just hope hes listening and gets in touch.
