Well now we’re up to our Long Distance Dedication. This is a letter Casey read on the air the weekend of September 28th 2008. It comes to us from Ray Hernandez, a member of our staff and his letter is about loss. Here’s what Ray writes: Dear Casey, When I first met Bobbie Kaminski, I didnt know what to think of her. She had these piercing blue eyes that felt like they could see through your soul. I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by her. But then I cracked a joke, and the most beautiful smile appeared on her face & she threw her head back in laughter. And, from that day forward, she would forever have a special place in my heart. Bobbie had this tough exterior, but underneath was this amazingly tender and loving person. I remember she had this dog she found on the street named Jojo. Not the prettiest dog in the world, but Bobbie (being Bobbie) managed to look passed the outside and see what was really there: a loving creature that desperately needed to be loved. Casey, Bobbie had been fighting cancer for the past three years. She put up a valiant effort, but in the end her spirit was stronger than her body & she passed away on August the 27th.
