Well, obviously this guy took into account that Connelly and Wendell ranked 2nd to last and LAST at their respective positions per PRO FOOTBALL FOCUS, who Monson works for. Then you lose 95% of your receptions from the previous year, as well as your right tackle and both star TEs who you planned your entire offense around going into the season. As a lifelong Patriots fan, I can appreciate that Peyton Manning is statistically the greatest quarterback of all time, even though Brady has a far superior TD-INT ratio. The question for Monson is, would Tom Brady have taken that offense into the Super Bowl last year and put up 8 points? The answer, is obviously, no. Monson can say whatever he likes, but without taking personnel into account seems like a weak argument at best. Clearly this article is written with some sort of bias. If youre going to present an argument based on facts and statistics, then you must account for the poor play of the offensive line.
