Well over the last 6 months I have experienced many problems with my breasts. In January I had a breast cancer scare and then again in March another suspicious lesion. This most recent one is what they call grey area meaning that they are not sure if it really early cancer or abnormal breast tissue. They will need to remove the entire area before they can determine either way. I have a strong family history of breast cancer which combined with my recent scares has increased my breast cancer risk to around 45%. Due to this there were some tough decisions to be made........Russ and I drove to UCLA last week and met with the best breast cancer and plastic surgeon UCLA has to offer. After weighing all the pros and cons, we have decided that the best option for me and my family is to proceed with bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction. I will be having the procedures done at UCLA next Friday and will have to stay there for 2 weeks, then I can come home to fully recover. I can not say enough about how blessed and loved I feel during this time. I have the most wonderful husband Russ Jaynes in the world who is my rock and gives me strength, my mom Patricia Failla who has selflessly helped us make all the reservations and has unwavering love and support, Taylor Thompson who has been here to make me laugh, Tiffani Tschida who has been here for me to vent and support me, and my Heart n Home family who has given me the time off I need and all the love and support in the world. I love each and every one of you and Im looking forward to a fun filled summer and my new bionic boobies! LMAO
