Well, so obama is really going to go ahead with an executive order on immigration, despite the fact that at least one new electee vowed to hold investigations into his abuse of power. Now, let me start by saying, that executive orders are not mentioned ANYWHERE in the Constitution, and it does not address nor vindicate their validity. Second, My understanding is, and please correct me if Im wrong, that exectutive orders were meant to regulate operations within the executive branch, not to create laws. Third, Article I, section1, the very first words of the Constitution, states: All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives. Now, this is short and sweet, and easy to understand. The key words are ALL LEGISLATIVE POWERS............... This is pretty clear to me; using an executive order to create a law, is unconstitutional, and therefore, illegal. Forth, we already have immigration laws on the books, and enacting such an executive order, would nullify these laws. Now in conclusion, his action is going to essentialy repeal existing laws, create new laws, and he DOES NOT HAVE ANY SUCH AUTHORITY!! When is this Mans (?) narcissism going to end?!! So, now lets see if our new Congress enforces the law! Its up to us to hold their feet to the fire. Just because we voted them in, doesnt mean we can sit back and relax.
