Well someone set my alarm to BOOM at 3:00 A.M. again last night. Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 5 am PDT Thursday through Friday afternoon... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of north Idaho and northeast Washington... including the following counties... in north Idaho... Bonner... boundary and Kootenai. In northeast Washington... Pend Oreille... Spokane and Stevens. * From 5 am PDT Thursday through Friday afternoon * a large low pressure system will approach the region on Thursday with an increase in showers and thunderstorms. The low will move into central Washington on Friday with abundant shower and thunderstorm activity persisting. Over this 36 hour period between 1 to 2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts is possible. * Locations at greatest risk will be those in steep terrain and narrow canyons. This also includes the potential for debris flows and/or mud slides. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding or debris flows. Flash flooding and debris flows are very dangerous. Persons in the watch area should remain alert to changing weather conditions... monitor NOAA Weather Radio or other weather information sources. Be prepared to take action on short notice if heavy rainfall occurs or if flash flood warnings are issued. Thanks Gerald Davis
