Well that was exciting. I-80 westbound in Ohio at mile marker 86 my double-wide front left drive tire suddenly decides to shed its tread. With a bang it came off in one continuous, gigantic strip ... making a HUGE gator on the road. I am now pulled over at the side of the road about a half-mile past that point, flashers on, triangles out, waiting for a service truck to get here and change the tire for me. Meantime, many thanks to the state trooper who pulled over to check on me and who displayed way more guts than I ever had by telling me shed retrieved the gator herself from the middle lane of the freeway. DAYAM!
