Well, the rain has turned to cold after the warmest Christmas I - TopicsExpress

Well, the rain has turned to cold after the warmest Christmas I can remember outside of being in Florida or the Southern Pacific....and it is still. Even the geese seem to have shut up today!...Maybe the world is too exhausted to do anything after so much giving....Who knows? Our neighbors had their Christmas party a week before Christmas but it is such a dismal affair in my estimation that I stopped going. It was always the same crowd occupying the same tables next to each other so the newbies had problems talking to the old-timers who banded together to keep the new folks from getting too friendly and thats how it stayed pretty much....And eventually those who turned out were the same folks who turned out every year....and even Board members, like myself, got tuned out and lost any real hope of feeling a closeness with the in group and petty rivalries and small mindedness screwed the pooch for me and Rose who also found no reason to want to serve any longer after about ten years on the Board in various capacities... Half the place goes to Florida anyway about the time the wild geese come down to share the winter. And quite frankly, I favor the geese. Well, it is all over except for the aches and pains and we will deal with those with a tri to the gym which will probably be packed today, although it is a work day fopr most.... I am thankful its over and we survived. The kids are fine, their moms and daqds are back at work and I am going to have a potload of coffee.... Whats to come? Our prognosis about the New Year and a soulnote note or two about this wyear regarded by many as one of the worst years of Congressional accomplishment since the start of this country.... and a contagion of block-headedness that seems to get perversely worse.. As we drift into the new year, what would you like to see happen?....
