Well there is a 50% chance that dog rescue will have to be put on - TopicsExpress

Well there is a 50% chance that dog rescue will have to be put on hold for a couple of months. Reason...Meg! Meg came into rescue a two weeks back and was due to be spayed last week. However, she got a terrible tummy bug the day before she was due to be spayed and so Sprout drew the short straw and was castrated instead. My logic said that she may come into season, so best to get his bits snipped because you can never be too careful, right? She was laying next to me on the sofa a few days ago and I noticed a bit of a bulging belly. It maybe a food belly as she is a piglet for food. But she did live with an entire male in her last home. She is at the vets tonight to have a scan tomorrow. If she is pregnant then she will come home as is as we do not spay abort. If the scan is clear then she will be spayed tomorrow. I am hoping for no puppies, but I wont kill puppies in the womb because we are non destruct and I stick by that policy, even if I havent met them yet. That said, it wont ever be happening again to her! Lets hope against hope...no puppies and just a healthy food podge!!
