Well this is a first for me, but we were kicked out of the Clinton fell festival. Why you ask? Apparently dogs are not allowed at the event even though it is held outside and since I have a hard time biting my tongue I spoke my mind. There was nothing in the paper, nor on their website stating that dogs were not allowed. I kept hearing people whisper among themselves that dogs were not allowed and after about the third person I turned around and said something to them. Then a volunteer waived me over and said that dogs were not allowed and I asked her how they can forbid dogs from an outdoor festival in a city with sidewalks for walking and explained to her that me having my dog there was no different then if I lived in the city and was simply taking my dog for a walk. Two more volunteers approached us on our way out and I made it quite clear that we were already told and that we were promptly leaving and again asked how was this any different then me just simply living in town and taking my dog for a walk. We were so good that we even received an announcement over the loud speakers that dogs are not allowed. If you dont want dogs there you need to do more then put small signs up here and there that are easily covered up by pedestrians standing in front of them. It was a warm day and I was not about to put my dog back in a hot vehicle. I will never be back to the Clinton fall festival.
