Well today is bitter sweet....a beautiful day after a day of severe weather and we were fortunate nothing here at home......dr visit this morning for breathing issues and they changed my asthma meds and that is okay......this afternoon I tried to take my mind off of the memory of this day 37 years ago...they say it gets easier as time goes by(Gail that is not always true) but today 37 years ago my mom Shelby Jean Ritter Catlett was called home to Heaven....no we were not ready to let her go my sister was a Senior in HS and I was out of town.....to receive a call and be told long distance that your mom has died and all you know you gotta get home....I do not remember the trip home or paying toll......to help make funeral arrangements, watching your dad walk around as a zombie...the day of the funeral and having to get dressed and yet not wanting to go.....I can not tell you much about the service other than daddy chewing gum,me counting the petals on a flower arrangement or someone crying wait that was me....then we were in the car being driven to the cemetery dad in the middle with my sister and I on either side.....going thru the gates at ft sill then it was home...so many people never knew my mom knew so many people........yes it has been 37 years and yet it was yesterday.....mom you are so missed and I love you more than anything.......I ask anyone reading this if your mom and dad are still here on earth cherish the time you have life is short dont wait till tomorrow to make things right and tell them how much you love them tomorrow is not a given.......my mom was only 40 but for 37 years I have had the best Angel...love you mommie
