Well….today is my birthday….and you will all probably hate me by the end of the day…why?...?....well, because I am going to blow up your notifications with posts. Since my hubby doesn’t get home from South Carolina til’ 6PM…HEY…I got all day here!!! I will be doing a few E-PATTERN GIVE-AWAYS also right along with all the postings…so you will have to keep an eye out. And then at 3PM I will be giving away a FREE DOLL from a previous giveaway that was never claimed by the winner. And, I will be having a reflection of sorts on what I think is probably the most favorite time in my early life… Hmmmm? I think any part of the late 70’s was awesome…if you weren’t a part of it…you probably wish you were. Gas prices were $0.59 a gallon. On $5 allowance per week…with my high school BFF…we could throw $2 each in the Nova for gas, split the cost of a Miller shorty 8 pack, eat a burger, fries and a drink at McDonalds for $0.98, and have one heck of a nite just cruisin’ around and hittin the pool hall. If you have ever seen the movie Dazed and Confused…the 70’s was totally like that…except for chasing around Jr. High kids anyway. We had some of the best music ever…now bear in mind…some of the music I might post…like Hendrix…was NOT the 70’s…he was late 60’s…but I still listened to Hendrix…he is CLASSIC to this day!! Just to name a few that I listened to cranked to the max in the Nova…Kansas-Queen-Fleetwood Mac- Heart-Styx-BTO-The Hollies-The Eagles-Cheap Trick-Manfred Mann-Grand Funk-The outlaws-Allman Brothers-Neil young-Journey-Rainbow-Van Halen-AC/DC-Deep Purple-Judas Priest-Black Sabbath-Jethro Tull-Thin Lizzy-UFO-ZZTop-Uriah Heap-Pink Floyd-Alice Cooper-Humble Pie-Nazareth-Foghat-KISS-Bad Company-Ted Nugent-The Stones-Montrose-Aerosmith-Led Zeppelin-Blue Oyster Cult-David Bowie-Dire Straits…Did we have the DOOBIE’s?...?...I’m sure we had at least one but didn’t inhale it!…I had some of these on 8 track but most on vinyl…LOL. 8 track sucked because you couldn’t even skip to the next song…and half the time a song would split to go to the next track…BOooooooooooo! But when I listened to them on vinyl…I had it so loud that my parents bought me headphones…and a cord that stretched from my room all the way to the kitchen…A girl has to get a drink and some chips every now and then y’know. So this is MY Dazed and Confused soundtrack of life in the 70’s…it really wasn’t about the “Slow Ride”…it was more about the “Fool for the City”. youtube/watch?v=PgtHflRV0cc
