Well we had a busy night last night. It seems as if Jaden has taken a step backwards. Its hard for us to understand why but with a micro preemie sometimes you seem to take one step forward and two steps backward. He got his bigger non leaky breathing tube last night but his gasses did not improve. Early early this morning, they put Jaden on a new, bigger breathing machine called a Jet. Its similar to an oscillator but a little bit easier on their lungs, not as invasive. This is surely a step in the wrong way as far as breathing goes, but Dr. Darling assures us this is not out of the ordinary for babies to do this when they are Jadens size and age. On a positive note his latest blood gas was good and his chest x-ray this morning looked better than it did last night when they changed the tube. Theyve made adjustments to the ventilator and will draw more blood for a gas in a hour. Caden still seems to be slowly progressing. His gasses have remained at very good levels since yesterday afternoon and his chest x ray this morning washt bad. It seems as if Caden is now on his way back up the hill, and they will let him be for a little while longer.
