Well we were busy with running the Pinewood Derby yesterday, we hade well over 100 plus youth and parents there and ever year the cars get better and better, some of the ideas are simply astounding and you really get an appreciation of how much time the cubs and their parents have put into these cars. Pinewood is a fantastic activity to bring parents together working with their children, teaches the kids basic tool, design and research skills and really encompasses everything about how you approach scouting. Simply put, the more effort and time you put into your car, the better, faster and more rewarding the result you will get at the end of the race. So it is with scouting, the more you put into it, the further you dig, the harder you push yourself, the bigger the rewards in scouting, personally, developmentally, socially and of course skill and material awards. Most young people really only scratch at the surface, or cruise through scouting, me I want to squeeze every drop of scouting into my life, search every corner, gain as much knowledge as I can and educate my cubs to be not just cubs, but inquisitive, knowledge seeking individuals, who reach their full potential. BP summed it up in a few words Do your best ask yourself have you ever really achieved this goal, if not there is a whole world out there waiting fro you to discover.
