Well, weve had about four feet of snow here since Karen has been on the East coast the last two weeks. Its been really powdery snow. Probably 16 inches of snow equals one inch of rain. We had more than six feet of snow at the plant. It started to rain a few days ago and there were avalanches along I-90 that shut the Hi-way down for a day and a half. The snow at the plant has collapsed down to about two feet. There is significant run-off from the rain and melting snow because the ground is still frozen solid half an in down. Weve had about 130% of average precipitation this winter. Prospect Creek began running under the bridge on the road to the US Antimony Plant this morning. Much earlier than average. The mountains above 8000 feet have ten plus feet of snow. The Spring melt-off, which seems to be beginning now, will make the rivers flow very high. Picking up Karen at the Missoula Airport on Friday. Well post some photos of the rivers in the nest few weeks.
