Well, what a weekend ! I have been somewhat absent from FB and everything else lately. Over the weekend it rained here so much I looked out the window to see if there might be an ark floating by. We got 6 of water in our basement. Of course, things got wet, wet, wet ! Papers, cardboard boxes we use for some storage. everything...... No carpet down there but it is partly finished, with a ceramic tile floor and paneling. We are hoping the paneling dries out, okay, but time will tell on that. I have a small immersible pump and tried using that to pump the water out but it was, even then, coming in faster than I could pump it out. BTW....it was coming in through the French drain in the basement floor. So, called around looking for someone to pump it out for us. No plumber does that ! They all offered to come out when we get it drained, I thanked them and hung up the phone. Service Master to the rescue ! A couple of guy came, with a much bigger pump than I would ever own, so big they do not take it out of the truck, just trailed big hoses to the basement and started sucking. Hoses looked like, maybe, 5 inches in diameter ! Much bigger than my garden hose ! LOL Well, they got the water out and started helping us move stuff out of the water, some things we put outside to drain and dry. -The guys were here, with another who came by later, for around 4 hours, and when they left they left us with a giant dehumidifier and 8 huge floor fans to dry things up. Now, to get the water heater repaired ! Water got into the controls and the plumber who did come said the one part would need to be ordered, and will be sent overnight express, so we must wait until tomorrow to shower. Enough !!!!! No complaining, mind you, I do not complain about things that are no ones fault, just crying ( boo hoo).
