Well while I was at the Edmond shelter doing what I could and giving them a little much needed space pulling/saving 7 little lives. Sunshine with OK Save A Dog was doing the grunt work with a situation their agency was contacted about with a group of 22 dogs in a rural town I have never heard of. . Long story short we took in 7 dogs and 6 cats from this situation yes thats right cats. This situation is more of a failure to spay and neuter case verses a hoarder because she didnt go collect she just didnt fix her pets. Now the owner is in the hospital and not expected to be able to come back. Turns out there where also cats out there that the original rescue was not informed of on the initial contact, and what ever is tossed our way as rescuers we handle it though we are both dog rescues but we are not going to leave the cats behind with no one to care for them. We dont have a place for all the cats to go but we did get the pregnant, mother and sick ones out and Ok Save a Dog will continue to find a place for them to go, and of course they have had food and water put out for them and family members of the owner are assisting. And no this wont be on your 9 Oclock news because we dont have a PR team to rush and contact media and schedule tape shoots, we will be busy taking care of the new fur kids in out care. Flea and Tick treatment de-wormers, vaccines and getting appointments for them to get fixed and ready for a new life.. While we wont be contacting every news station out there to tell you how much a we need your support and that these kind of intakes stress our resources though this one is rather smaller broke up between different agencies. Please always remember the smaller rescues always need you help and we will stretch your $20 bill or your $100 donation further than the larger ones that is for sure..
