Well, yesterday started out ok. We had Bryson and I had a hair appt and then went ahead and got my nails done. By the time I got home Bryson had gone home and we went to the store and got supper. Started trying to figure out what to pack for our trip to California. Amanda L. Graham snuck in on us and was sitting in the living room when we found her and we decided to visit for a bit with her. As we sat there talking we began to smell something burning. We started checking around and found smoke coming from the attic area and called 911. The Burkburnett Fire Department and Police also showed up within three minutes. They contained the fire in the attic, but had to tear out the ceiling in the living room and hallway in the process. It was electrical by nature and so the electric company was called to disconnect the meter. After it was all said and done we had to get what we needed and wanted to take care of and leave. We spent a night in the hotel in town and went on our merry way to our destination for the next night. Amanda has been a Godsend in dealing with all the problems and getting help from our other daughter Kimberly Morgan and good friends and adopted kids Ranette Kay Downey and Phillip Downey. Thanks to the good Lord that allowed the fire to show itself when it did. If it had happened the next day, we would have been gone and would probably have lost everything. As it was we have some smoke damage and loss of food. We will deal with it much better after we arrive back to our home city. Thanks to all the concerned people who bombarded Amanda with calls. Thanks for all the prayers that have come our way.
