Welp, I’m forty. It’s a milestone or mile marker I suppose. I’ve never been one to be overly concerned about my age and never been forty until today. I guess you think about it more as you get older and your life & body change. Really just a few thoughts I thought I’d share and pics of me+twin sister+my grandpop just for sport and in no particular order, maybe words of wisdom to my younger self. - I never thought I’d make it to forty. I always envisioned that 28 would be my ceiling in age. Glad it didn’t work out like that. Happy I still feel like I’m in my twenties most of the time too. My thirties were pretty amazing. The people and relationships that I started and continue to invest in are unbelievable. Not to mention my kids (one of them got here in my twenties)—I like those little people a bunch. - Still not that smart. Never will be. There’s just too much to know, so I’d rather just stay curious. That I have always have been and always will be. Sometimes I think people mistake my curiosity for life as intelligence. I don’t think I ever will. - People said that some things will get easier as time goes on, like lost relationships (people you miss). That’s not true. Not even in the slightest. - Don’t take it for granted. Insert everything into that category; your health, wealth, relationships and just about anything. It can all go quickly. - How do you not take it for granted? Keep at it. It’s a marathon. These things include parenting, health, wealth and developing those relationships. - Relax dude. You’re too serious, intense and make work where there’s none. Words of wisdom that I know I’ll never take heed. Simple and not very poetic. These are words that I’d share with my younger me. Share the words for your younger you if you like. Thanks for all of the bday wishes.
